A powerful Peer Program trains youth in specific communication and helping skills so that they may provide services to other youth –- their peers -- in a well-thought-out, systematic way. This Training of Trainers opportunity is geared towards adults interested in setting up or reinforcing an existing Peer Program that trains youth to become peer counselors, mentors, conflict mediators, and peer educators on topics that impact other youth. This training is designed to help participants decide which components of a Peer Program they need at their sites. It provides them with the concrete foundational "building blocks" and the daily “nuts and bolts” of implementing a successful program. Participants will leave the training with a plan of action, the skills needed to recruit, train, supervise and motivate Peer Advocates, and a hands-on curriculum with step-by-step guidance for training youth. The workshop cost includes both .pdf and .doc versions of the curriculum.
