To whom it may concern:
I am participating in GLSEN’s National Day of Silence on April 14th to raise awareness and visibility for those in the LGBTQ+ community who have been silenced by stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination which leads to harm and sometimes to homicide or suicide. You can use the QR code below to learn more about the Day of Silence and find stories from SUHSD LGBTQ+ members and allies. I will be wearing a rainbow ribbon and/or rainbow mask to remind you of my participation and further raise awareness. Although I will remain silent, I will still participate in class by listening actively. If you need a response from me on this date, I can provide one in written form.
You can download these images and use them as screen savers or as an Instagram story to show your support for the Day of Silence. These may help explain to others why you are being silent and raise awareness with that silence.
