MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL Juan Chaidez
Dear Lincoln Leopard Families,
Happy New Year! It might seem like a weird thing to say in August, but for those of us involved in schools, this time of year is Happy New Year!
As Principal of Lincoln Elementary School, I would like to welcome you and your child(ren) to the 2022-2023 school year! Our Staff and I have been busy preparing for the new school year and we look forward to working with you to make this year an exciting learning experience for all children and parents. Of course, being a parent is the most important role anyone can have. You are your child’s first and most crucial teacher. If education is a priority for you, so it will be for your child.
It is important for me to be a visible presence around and in the school building and to be an advocate for students, staff, and parents. I do believe in a disciplined learning environment. However, I feel that I am firm, but fair and caring. Children do work best when expectations for learning and behavior are clear and consistent.
My goals for this year are to continue to improve the school environment and continue to support teachers in increasing student achievement as we strive for excellence in education. I see myself as a teacher and educational leader. My personal vision begins with believing that all children can learn through established structures and an optimal learning environment. I believe in creating and orchestrating an environment that is nurturing, child-centered, and compatible to how children learn best. I believe in building an atmosphere that has a strong sense of family and a high sense of belonging. I have made a commitment to empowering teachers and parents in educating all of our children to become productive and contributing members of our democratic society. This is my personal vision and commitment. We need to work as a team: parents, students, teachers, administrators and we need to BELIEVE!
Teachers, Support Staff, and I invite you to visit our school and maintain ongoing contact with us. Language is not a barrier if it's English or Spanish. I encourage you to get involved in the various parent groups we have at school or volunteer time in your child's class. This truly makes a difference in your child's life, both emotionally and academically.

¡Feliz año nuevo! Puede parecer algo extraño decir en agosto, pero para aquellos de nosotros involucrados en las escuelas, ¡esta época del año es Feliz Año Nuevo!
Como director de la escuela primaria Lincoln, ¡me gustaría darle la bienvenida a usted y a sus hijos al año escolar 2022-2023! Nuestro personal y yo hemos estado ocupados preparándonos para el nuevo año escolar y esperamos trabajar con ustedes para hacer de este año una experiencia de aprendizaje emocionante para todos los niños y padres. Por supuesto, ser padre es el papel más importante que cualquiera puede tener. Usted es el primer y más importante maestro de su hijo. Si la educación es una prioridad para usted, también lo será para su hijo.
Es importante para mí ser una presencia visible alrededor y dentro del edificio escolar y ser un defensor de los estudiantes, el personal y los padres. Creo en un ambiente de aprendizaje disciplinado. Sin embargo, siento que soy firme, pero justo y cariñoso. Los niños funcionan mejor cuando las expectativas de aprendizaje y comportamiento son claras y consistentes.
Mis objetivos para este año son mejorar el ambiente escolar y continuar apoyando a los maestros para aumentar el rendimiento de los estudiantes a medida que nos esforzamos por la excelencia en la educación. Me veo como maestro y líder educativo. Mi visión personal comienza con creer que todos los niños pueden aprender a través de estructuras establecidas y un entorno de aprendizaje óptimo. Creo en crear y orquestar un entorno que sea acogedor, centrado en el niño y compatible con la forma en que los niños aprenden mejor. Creo en construir una atmósfera que tenga un fuerte sentido de familia y un alto sentido de pertenencia. Me he comprometido a capacitar a los maestros y padres para educar a todos nuestros hijos para que se conviertan en miembros productivos y contribuyentes de nuestra sociedad democrática. Esta es mi visión personal y compromiso. ¡Necesitamos trabajar en equipo: padres, estudiantes, maestros, administradores y necesitamos CREER que lo podemos lograr!
Los invito a visitar nuestra escuela y mantener un contacto continuo con nosotros. El idioma no es una barrera si es inglés o español. Le animo a participar en los diversos grupos de padres que tenemos en la escuela o en el tiempo de voluntario en la clase de su hijo. Esto realmente marca la diferencia en la vida de su hijo, tanto emocional como académicamente.

My personal vision begins with believing that all children can learn in a structured, supportive school environment. I believe in creating and orchestrating an environment that is nurturing, child-centered, and compatible to how children learn best. I believe in building a school atmosphere that has a strong sense of family, and a high sense of belonging. I have made a commitment to empowering teachers and parents in educating all of our children to become productive and contributing members of our democratic society. I look forward to working with parents, teachers, support staff and central office in the best interest of our students and “keeping kids first” as we strive for excellence in achievement.
I have listed several of my basic beliefs about the way I’d like to see our school grow as well as several expectations I have of us all.
All students can and will learn.
All of our staff members will be the best we can be.
We will provide a quality education for all our students.
We will hold high expectations for our students; academically and behaviorally.
We will foster the development of self-esteem, pride and respect of self and other’s property.
We will model what we teach and expect from our students.
We will communicate openly, respectfully, and responsibly with other staff members.
We will communicate respectfully and regularly with parents.
We will handle discipline quickly, fairly and appropriately.
We will work together with all other staff members and families to create a positive environment in which to work, learn, and grow.
