My name is Mr. Kapuaala and this is my 5th year teaching at El Gabilan Elementary School. I grew up in Salinas and Santa Cruz. While living in Salinas I attended Lincoln Elementary, El Gabilan Elementary, and Harden Middle School. I graduated from Soquel High School and attended college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where I received my undergraduate degree in Hawaiian Studies. After working as an archivist technician at the Bishop Museum, and a surfing instructor in Waikiki, I decided to start a career in the field of education.

My family and I left Hawaii in 2015 and relocated to the Salinas Valley where I graduated from Brandman University with a Multiple Subject Credential in Education. I love teaching at El Gabilan Elementary School and I am very grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that gave me so much.
