Payment options

There are various ways to pay your student balance. Please review the following options carefully:

  1. If you want to use your BANK ACCOUNT, please make sure you have enough funds to cover the total cost. There is no service fee. You will need your bank account number and your bank's routing number. It is a good idea to have a blank check to get the routing number and account number. You can enter this information into your Student Navigator account.
  2. If you want to use the PAYMENT PLAN, please remember there is a $40.00 enrollment fee each semester. Visit https://salemstate.afford.com and set up your account with the estimated costs listed below. Remember, it takes 24 hours for your payment plan account to connect to your SSU Navigator account. You should set up your payment plan and then register for your classes the next day. Your classes will drop if your account is not connected.
  3. If you want to use your CREDIT CARD, please remember there is a 2.85% service fee added to the total cost.
  4. If you want to WIRE TRANSFER money from your country directly to your student account at Salem State University, please use https://flywire.com.


How to Set up a Monthly Payment Plan

  1. You will need to set up a monthly payment plan through https://salemstate.afford.com .
  2. Select the term you are enrolled for and select “Out of State.”
  3. Enter the total amount you owe Salem State University (tuition, health insurance, housing, meal plan, orientation, placement test, progress test, etc.).
  4. Select the number of payments you want to pay.
  5. Enter your personal information.
  6. Create a password and click on “Terms of Use” and click on “I Agree,” then “Continue.”
  7. Follow the instructions to enter your bank account information or credit card information.
  8. Please note that it often takes 24-36 business hours for your payment plan to be manually connected to your Salem State Student Account.
