Pencil & paper - 8.5 in x 5 in
This is an original character I made. I was inspired to make it when I was listening to an symphony piece about the wars and colonization of Native Americans. The piece inspired me to study Native American culture and got me to thinking of stories and characters set in a world where Native Americans were able to protect themselves using supernatural powers. These ideas inspired me to create this character who uses his powers to summon the spirit of a orca and a hawk.
Pencil & paper - 8.5 in x 5 in
This sketch was a way for me to practice different perspectives from different points of views. My inspiration for this was the amazing designs on pokemon cards. These designs make me aim to create my own. When I was thinking of ways to practice these pokemon came to mind.

The goal of this practice was to practice human anatomy efficiently. The reason some of these drawings focus on various subjects is because I wanted to sort of practice all around. Some sketches focus on shading, muscle, simple gestures, or fine detail. To do this I gave myself one minute for each sketch and then used the Loomis method and line of action.
Pencil & paper - 8.5 in x 11 in
For this piece I wanted to practice some more quadruped anatomy with quick sketches. I chose the elephants because they were my grandma's favorite animal. With this process I used major schema to figure out the animals shape and where the muscles are, and I also used a line of action as well.
Pencil & paper - 8.5 in x 11 in
This sketch is the process of my study with a horses anatomy. These are stills from real life I captured and sketched using line of action and schema.
Chalk & charcoal - 60 in x 30 in
The goal of this piece was to show my progress with 3D objects on a 2D platform and my use of 3-point perspective.
Chalk & charcoal - 24 in x 30 in
This is a sketch of a pokemon, Chandelure, in a original pose from memory. I used this pokemon so that I can practice seeing characters as 3D objects. As I practice this skill I aim to be able to pose characters in any way accurately using schema.
Pencil & paper - 8.5 in x 5 in
This sketch was a study I did of the anatomy of feet including bone and muscle. I practiced this so that I can draw humans more accurately. To do this I used simple shapes and shading to give it a 3D look and show where the muscle, bones, and joints would be.
Watercolor paint - 9 in x 12 in
The goal of this piece was to practice flow. When I was thinking of flow betta fish came to mind. I had a line of action set in my head and let the flow come to me.
