Here is an opportunity for high school and college students.
A new student essay contest on economics launched by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation.
The deadline for submissions is less than 4 weeks away: September 10.
The prizes are generous:
$10,000 for first place in each division (one division for high school students, another for undergraduates)
$5,000 for second place
$1,000 for every finalist, with up to 10 finalists chosen in each division
The Coolidge Foundation also sponsors the Coolidge Scholarship, a four-year, full-ride college scholarship.

Please spread the word to your high school and college children so they can start their entries if this seems to be something that might interest them. Again, the September 10 submission deadline is less than 4 weeks away.

For SHS Students:
Are you curious about becoming a doctor or working in healthcare someday? Want to get hands-on experience and learn from medical students?
ScholarDOCs is an exciting free after-school program led by students from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. We’re inviting high school students to join us for a series of fun and interactive sessions. This fall, our sessions will focus on the cardiopulmonary system and include hands-on activities such as simulation center events, ultrasound, anatomy lab, and FBRI tours. The session will be 8 weeks long and will run on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm between September 17th - November 5th.
All high school students (9th-12th graders) are eligible to apply. ScholarDOCs is held on-site at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (2 Riverside Circle, Roanoke VA 24016).
