Analysis of experimental data and design of relationship in life science
Let's examine the data thoroughly and find out its essence.
We have been meticulously analyzing biological experimental data and providing feedback for quantitative mathematical modeling and experimental design. We re-launched as the "Data-Driven Biology" laboratory in April 2021, which is a field that considers and provides what is necessary to analyze experimental data, rather than relying solely on AI or mathematical models. Our approach involves pre-processing the data using our domain knowledge in biology, and then using machine learning and mathematical models to gain knowledge. We take pleasure in designing relational equations that represent biological functions based on physical constraints and laws derived from experimental data.

231101: Ryosuke Fujikawa's (now at Accenture) paper on traction force estimation introducing cell boundaries as a prior distribution has been accepted by Biophysical Journal. This is a collaborative research with Yamaguchi University.
231020: Collaborative research paper on regulation of genomic structure during differentiation of undifferentiated cells into neural ectoderm has been accepted for publication in iScience. Asst. Prof. Kogaji contributed to the data analysis.
231014: A review on the analysis of Rho GTPase activity and cell motility has been accepted by the Journal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering.
231012: We welcomed a new member to our lab.
230906: Tomoki Ohkubo's paper on the collaborative use of microorganisms and computers to boost the efficiency of valuable substance production has been accepted for publication in Scientific Reports. This research is a joint effort with Fujita Health University and Kyushu University.

230209: Our research paper on decoding Rho GTPase activity to cell edge motility has been accepted for publication in Cell Reports. This is a joint effort with Fujita Health University, Tokyo University of Science, and National Institute for Basic Biology.
220812: Assistant Professor Toshiya Kogaji's paper has been accepted for publication in Scientific reports.

220807: Assistant Professor Toshiya Kogaji's review article has been accepted for publication in Current Opinion in Endocrine and Metabolic Research.
