Accommodation (Hotel Info)

Teams and parents are required to make their own bookings. Below are the details of our preferred hotel of choice.

Orchard Parade Hotel

1 Tanglin Road

Singapore, 247905

Telephone : (65) 6496 7583

Email : kellylim@fareast.com.sg

Conveniently located at the beginning of Orchard Road, Orchard Parade Hotel is a short walk from the MRT station and the ideal starting point to explore Singapore's iconic shopping street.

There's a huge variety of food options available in the immediate area that span local cafes to Chinese and Western restaurants.

Transportation

Taxi

There are numerous taxis in Singapore, and it is not difficult to catch a cab. Taxis are all metered and drivers will usually start the meter without prompting. Please make sure the meter is running when you are in the taxi. The security hun at gate 2 of Stamford will assist you in booking a taxi.

MRT

The MRT railway system is excellent. The trains are air-conditioned, clean and usually comfortable except during peak traffic times when carriages can become somewhat crowded. Woodleigh Station is located 100m from the school and connects you all over the island via the North East (purple) Line. Single destination or day passes can be purchased.

Public buses

Singapore's bus system has an extensive network of routes covering most places in Singapore and is the most economical way to get around, as well as being one of the most scenic. Most buses in Singapore have air-conditioning - a welcome comfort in a tropical city. Fare prices are very reasonable.

Food & Beverages

At the competition Venue

  • Sarnie's will be available for teams and supporters to purchase food, snacks and drinks at the competition venues. Cash can be paid directly to the vendors at each stall (note that there are no ATMs on the school site).
  • All team members and coaches will receive lunch on both days of competition.
  • On Friday, as it is a regular school day at Stamford, the parent cafes are open on campus. These locations accept cards and cash.
  • On Saturday, a banquet dinner will be served for all teams and coaches in Stamford Arena.

Shopping

NEX Mall

NEX Mall is situated one stop on the purple line from Stamford and has all the usual retail outlets, fashion, restaurants and cafes. The bus number 100 opposite the school drops directly at the mall.

Orchard Road

Orchard Road is situated directly outside the Orchard Parade Hotel and has everything you could want to purchase.
