About Me

I graduated from Angelo State University in Dec. 2011. I moved to Crane in January to start my first teaching job where I taught 1st grade for seven years. I met my husband Ricky and when we wanted to start a family of our own, we moved to San Angelo so we could be closer to family. I taught at Bradford for four years teaching 1st and 2nd grade. During this time, we were blessed with our sweet, bold, energetic daughter named Isabella. I am currently one of the interventionists at Bradford for the 2025-2026 school year. I just recently went back to school to become a dyslexia teacher.

Why Education

I was born in Tierra Nueva, Mexico and moved to the United States when I was 2 years old. My parents wanted a better life for me and my siblings than the one they had experienced. It was very difficult and challenging for me growing up learning how to speak, read and write English. It is because of dedicated teachers that nurtured, supported, and loved me enough to keep pushing me to do my best that I wanted to be a teacher. I knew by the end of 2nd grade that I wanted to be just like those women that cheered me on. I believe that every child has the ability to learn, whether it is at their own rate or with their peers. I want to help students reach their potential by showing them that hard work and perseverance will help them be successful not just in school but also in life. Just like I pursed my dreams of becoming a teacher I want to empower my students to believe that the sky is the limit, and they can achieve anything they set their minds to with commitment and hard work.
