I started working in the library in middle school as a library aide. Books and reading gave me a great escape from the struggles in my everyday world and helped me to enjoy new experiences and friendships with people who related to me through the love of reading . I am not from San Angelo, but it is now my home and I chose to make it where my child is from. We have come full circle, because when Lincoln was first built my husband was a library aide in this very same library in which I now lead library aides.
My name is Kassie Chambliss, I grew up in a small town just south of Fort Worth, Texas in Crowley. Once I graduated I set off for a town that seemed to be a whole new world where I saw my first tumbleweed rolling through a Walmart parking lot. I graduated from Angelo State through the Honors Program with a Bachelor's in Communications Radio/TV/Film and spent several years working in the media industry starting in radio, then mostly spent time in TV metadata and print journalism. I earned my Master's of Library and Information Science from Texas Woman's University.
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing card games, floating in the lake, crafting, reading (which goes without saying I suppose), watching movies, singing random song lyrics after someone speaks a line from a song, and laughing.
