Tips for success:
All medication permission must go through the nurse's office for approval.
Inhalers may be carried in a student back pack IF:
They have an asthma action plan signed by the doctor and guardian on file with the nurse.
The inhaler is in the original box with pharmacy label OR the inhaler has a pharmacy label on it.
EpiPens may be carried in a student backpack IF:
They have an allergy action plan complete with the self-carry agreement signed by the doctor, guardian, and student.
The EpiPen is individually labeled with a pharmacy label.
Students may not carry any medication on their person except as outlined above - cough drops and all over the counter medications are included.
If your student has a special circumstance, not covered by these guidelines, please call the nurse.
