My Why

Before becoming a teacher, I worked in sales and finance, where success was often measured by finding the next opportunity. While my career path changed, my passion for seeking opportunities remained the same.

One of the things I enjoy most outside of school is exploring the natural world. Whether I am fishing, hiking a new trail, or searching for interesting rocks and artifacts, I am always looking for something meaningful to discover. Teaching feels much the same way. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, connect, and help students uncover their own strengths and potential.

My "why" is found in those moments of discovery. Just as you cannot explore yesterday's trail or tomorrow's river, you cannot teach in the past or the future. You can only teach in the present, one moment at a time. I strive to be fully present for my students, keeping my eyes open to opportunities to encourage, support, and inspire them. Each day offers new chances to make a difference, and that continual search for meaningful moments is what drives me as an educator.
