All About Me
I was raised in San Angelo, TX, where I've been fortunate enough to experience diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives. My life is a canvas of passions and hobbies that bring me immense joy. Whether it's exploring the outdoors, capturing moments with my family, or immersing myself in the world of creating, I believe in the power of these interests to inspire creativity and foster personal growth. I am a lifelong learner and am dedicated to expanding my horizons. I pursued my education at Angelo State University, where I gained invaluable knowledge and honed essential skills. Learning isn't just confined to formal education for me; I strive to keep discovering and evolving every day. My family and friends are the anchors of my life. The love, support, and shared experiences we have cultivated over the years have enriched my journey and remind me of the importance of nurturing meaningful relationships. I live by the philosophy that life is a precious gift, and every moment is a chance to create lasting memories, learn, and make a positive impact. Embracing gratitude, staying curious, and seeking out joy are principles that guide me.
My Why
Why did I become a teacher? I want to make a positive difference in the lives of my students by believing in them and empowering them to reach their full potential. I have always had a strong desire to be a teacher, fueled by my passion for working with children. Having experienced firsthand how a teacher seeing me as a person and not just focusing on academics made a significant difference in my own life, my goal is to replicate that experience for my students.
I aim to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued as individuals. By recognizing and celebrating their unique strengths, interests, and challenges, I can tailor my teaching to meet their specific needs. I am dedicated to not only supporting their academic growth but also nurturing their personal development.
My goal is to foster an atmosphere of trust, respect, and encouragement, where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them. I want to empower my students to become confident, independent thinkers who are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed academically, as well as develop into compassionate, resilient, and well-rounded individuals.
Through mentorship, guidance, and a genuine belief in their abilities, I strive to cultivate a growth mindset within my students, helping them develop a lifelong love for learning. My ultimate goal is to inspire and guide each student on their unique journey of self-discovery and personal growth, ensuring they not only achieve academic success but also become compassionate, empathetic, and responsible members of society.
Hello!
All About Me:
My name is Perla Garcia and I’m so excited to be joining the Math team for Lincoln!
I have lived here in Angelo for the past 3 years and I’ve really loved it. I’m originally from Chihuahua, MX and Spanish is my native language!
I enjoy deep and fun conversations with my family and friends. As well as spending quality (play) time with them. I look forward to coffee every morning. I like to take my pups on long walks (which means around 15 mins).
I really like listening to people’s life stories and hopes, everyone has something to share.
My Why:
I am an educator because of the joy of sharing life with students everyday and getting to speak into their lives. It is such a great reward to offer my classroom as a place of comfort and belonging to students.
I’ve worked in elementary and high school settings and now I get to grow in the middle school setting! Growing up I loved school and really admired good teachers. In my heart, I had it as a goal to one day become a teacher that also inspires the upcoming generations.
In addition, Math has always been my favorite school skill. Problem solving, innovation, and creativity became my personal/professional strengths in a huge part due to my love for Math.
I want to instill that curiosity and perseverance in my Math students!
