Mr. Patrick Cheney
Mr. Patrick Cheney graduated with his Bachelors in Music Education from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Cheney performed with Blackgold World Winter Guard in 2010, Bluecoats 2012, and was a founding member of the Invictus World Winter Guard in Austin, Texas. Mr. Cheney is in his 9th year teaching band and recently co-conducted the CTJ Full Orchestra at the 2022 Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Mr. Cheney is also on Visual Staff for the Boston Crusaders Drum Corps.
Dr. Victor Naranjo
Dr. Victor Naranjo has been with San Antonio ISD since 2005. He began working at Burbank High School in 2013 and has assisted in the growth and development of the program. The Burbank program has received numerous 1st division ratings, advanced to Area Marching and been recognized as an Honor band band TMEA. Dr. Naranjo is the Assistant Director of Bands and the Director of the Jazz Ensemble.
Prior to coming to SAISD Dr. Naranjo served as a Trumpet Consultant for Southwest ISD in 2005. Before moving to San Antonio, he was Director of Mariachi for San Angelo ISD. Dr. Naranjo worked for Odessa and Midland ISD where he served as a Trumpet Consultant and played with the Midland Symphony and Odessa College Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble.
He received his D.M.A. in 2003 and M.M. in 1999 from Texas Tech University and his B.M. in 1997 from Angelo State University.
