FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the dress code?
Students should wear a blue, green, white, black uniform polo, ALA spirit, or college shirt every day. They should wear jeans or black or khaki pants, skirts, or shorts. The first Friday of each month is a free dress day. Students are also encouraged to have one ALA-embroidered polo to wear on field trip days. What technology is allowed?
Personal phones and tablets will not be allowed in the classroom unless they are turned off and put away. If students need a school laptop, they can fill out paperwork from the library and check it out from the librarian, Ms. Sisson. Classroom sets of laptops will be available to use within the classroom if needed.
Can students bring snacks or drinks?
Students will not be allowed to eat snacks or drinks other than water in the classroom. However, students may bring snacks to school to eat during lunch, but are not allowed to share snacks with others. Students are allowed to bring water in a reusable container but are not allowed to bring water in disposable water bottles. Water bottles need to be filled before or after class, but not during class time.
What supplies will be needed?
Students need to bring the supplies listed on the 7th Grade Supply List. The supplies are split up into personal items and community items. The personal items are for the students to keep with them daily. The community items are to be turned into the teachers to split up among the students when needed.
When are office hours and tutoring?
All students are invited to attend tutoring after school with their 7th grade teachers. The hours are the same throughout the entire year:
Systems office hours with Ms. Murphy and Mr. Cacy is offered Tuesdays from 4:00-5:30
Humanities office hours with Mrs. Rounds and Mrs. Singh is offered Thursdays from 4:00-5:30
Additionally, Ms. Murphy and Mr. Cacy offer morning tutoring starting at 7:30 every day. Mrs. Rounds offers morning tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings starting at 7:30. Mrs. Singh offers morning tutoring by appointment.
