I expect every student to follow our PBIS model both in and out of the classroom. Students should also be kind and follow 'bucket filling' behaviors.
Having the 'power of yet' will allow student to persevere through their challenges. Students are expected to try their best and learn from their mistakes. Students are also expected to know that everyone is working on something. They are to support their peers in the classroom in order for everyone to achieve their goals.
I use calming body strategies in the classroom to refocus our brains! This can help a child with self-regulation and identifying their emotions. Feel free to practice at home:)
Yoga
Breathing techniques: roller coaster breathing or 5 deep belly breaths.
Closing eyes: counting to 10 or imagining favorite place.
Hugging self or stuffed animal.
Squeezing a stress ball
