JUNE 2025 Pre-K NEWSLETTER
It’s the home stretch! It’s been a wonderful year and I’ve truly enjoyed working with these kiddos throughout the school year. It could not have been possible without you, their first teacher. So, thank you sincerely for your support and for being an integral part of your child’s growth and education. I know summer plans can be hectic, but I recommend revisiting numbers and letters with them throughout the summer to prevent the summer slide. Not just letter/number recognition, but writing, too. Give them pencil and paper or their own notebook. For those emergent readers already proficient with letters, give them reading challenges (traffic signs, menus, even cake mix!) This builds confidence, and they’ll be prepared and eager to start school in the Fall.
Please help me congratulate our older group who are graduating Pre-K;
Arlo Charlotte Remi Grace
Sage B. Declan Kate Sage S.
Louis Lorene Rhys
Parents and younger siblings are welcome to join us for the graduation ceremony. The 3’s group will be present as part of the audience. It will be June 12th at 10:00 a.m. There will be light refreshments following to celebrate our graduates and the last day of school.
I’ll be sending home a lot of art and workbooks the last days so watch for that. I’ll also send our sad chive-heads☹. Despite going through several packets of seeds, they aren’t very full and lush. I do not know why! Still, they do thicken in time, or you may re-seed if you wish. Recently, I heard of a past student still using her chives in recipes! They can live for many years.
For June, our letters are Qq and Zz. We will review our alphabet and numbers, colors and shapes. Our themes are; the power of the Sun and summer safety.
