MAY   2026      SPPS     Pre-K     NEWSLETTER

Can you believe how quickly this school year sped by? And every year, I marvel at the mad rush at the end. Well, this year is no different. We are busy, busy!

We are still working on our numbers recap (1-20) and counting skills. Our last letters of the alphabet to study are letters Qq and Zz. The shape is “crescent” and the color is blue.

The themes include insects, Ocean creatures, and plants.

We have been observing caterpillars this spring. They are currently chrysalises, as we wait for them to emerge as butterflies. We talk about “metamorphosis” in terms of the time they spend as pupae. Fun Fact;  Did you know all chrysalises are pupae but not all pupae are chrysalises?

And they aren’t the only thing undergoing metamorphosis in our classroom! We are also lucky to observe tadpoles, thanks to Dr. Davidson. They are residing in a tank on our back counter. The students are very excited about them!

We will probably not have a scholastic book order this month due to the Book Fair happening in the library. But if you still want to look and order something, I will be notified by Scholastic and be sure to send it through. Here is the link-  https://orders.scholastic.com/GZX4H

It will be the last order of the school year.
