Classroom Management

Each student will have a monthly behavior/effort calendar. It is to be kept in the back of their homework journal. If there was some sort of infraction during the day, I will mark it on their calendar. Calendars are to be signed on Fridays. If you have a perfect calendar at the end the week, you will receive a small treat. Perfect calendars at the end of the month earn a larger prize.

We also have a class marble jar. When the class on the whole behaves and follows clasroom rules, they will receive a marble in a jar at the end of the day. When the jar is full, the class will earn a party of their choice.( Example: ice cream social or movie with popcorn,etc.) Marbles will also be taken out if the class misbehaves.

Missed homework will be noted on the calendar as well. The child will be required to complete the missed assignment during his or her recess time. Missed homework assignments effects the child's effort grade.

I do allow homework to be written on looseleaf if they forget a book. It is a good idea to get a buddy's phone number for missed homework. If the child is absent it is their responsibility to get the work they have missed. Siblings/neighbors are welcome to pick up missed work at 2:25 pm. We will have an absentee moderator who will make sure all work is ready to to be picked up.
