Grades are based on a variety of classwork, assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and other assessments. Students will have regular opportunities to demonstrate their understanding of the skills and concepts being taught.

Grades are intended to reflect a student's understanding and progress toward the learning goals. Students are expected to complete assignments on time and do their best work.

Students are expected to keep up with their assignments and turn in their work on time. Currently, missing work will result in a student missing Fun Friday. As the school year progresses, classroom expectations and the missing-work policy will gradually become more similar to the expectations students will experience in middle school. 

If your child is absent due to illness, they are responsible for completing any missed work. Students will receive one school day to make up work for each day they are absent. For example, if a student is absent for two days, they will have two school days to complete their missed work. Please check the Homework page for assignments and important information. If there is work that cannot be posted online, it will be provided when the student returns to school.

If students know they are going to be gone, whether it be for vacation or a planned surgery, they are expected to collect homework PRIOR to them being gone.
