Titirangi/Kaiti Hill

Every year Gisborne has a Mt Everest Challenge. You have to climb Kaiti hill as much times as it take to get up to Mt Everest. This Challenge starts around about late September. On the way up, there is a playground and a pohutakawa tree that was planted by Princess Diana.

HB Williams Memorial Library

This Library is a pretty big library with a Childrens, Young Adults, and Adults section. In the school holidays, the library holds a reading programme for kids. Basically, you sign up, get a booklet and write a review on a book you read from the library. You go to the library and talk them about the book, and then you get a sticker. Every 5 reviews you do you get to choose a brank new book from a shelf for free!

Waikanae Beach

Waikanae is the best beach. The waves aren't too big or too small, just perfect. You can see Te kuri o Paoa/ Young Nick's head. There is also a statue of Captain James Cook. You can also enjoy the board walk by biking and walking. After surfing or swimming you can get an ice cream at Captain Morgan's!

Botanical Garden

Just by the river, the Botanical Garden is fun place to play for all ages, and there's a flying fox, crow's nest, plus a place to feed ducks, and a separate playground for younger ones. Pukeko also sometimes visit!

Skate Park

The Gisborne Skate Park has lots to ramps and dips. It's suitable for two-wheeled scooters, bikes, and skateboards.
