In Theology this year our studies focus on Credo. This is a thorough study of the articles of the Creed as the basic elements of our Catholic Faith, with a special emphasis on careful understanding of definitions through the words of the Gospels, the prophets, and the prayers of the Church.
The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.
Ordinary Time
Ordinary Time, in the Catholic Church, refers to the parts of the liturgical year not occupied by the major seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. It is divided into two sections and is a period for growth in faith and reflection on Christ's ministry and teachings, marked by the liturgical color green. The term "ordinary" comes from the Latin word ordinalis, meaning "numbered," as the weeks of this season are counted, distinguishing it from the more festive or penitential times of the year.
