Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to welcome everyone back to Saint Mary Catholic School for the 2025-2026 school year. I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. I am very excited to begin the year in our Multi-Age Classroom (MAC). We have many adventures heading our way! On this page you will find information pertaining to our classroom for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions, regarding the following information, please do not hesitate to ask.
Snack and Water Bottles:
Students should bring a snack to school with them each day. Snack is at 10:00 am. Students should also have a classroom water bottle with their name on it. I ask that these water bottles be spill proof. These will be sent home each night to be washed and returned with your student each school day.
Daily Schedule:
The school day begins at 8:25 am. Students arriving prior to 8:15 need to report to Kids Club or remain in the lobby with a parent. Recess begins at 11:30 am with lunch following at 11:55 until 12:20. Mass is on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am. Dismissal for the school day this year is at 3:30 pm. Half Day Dismissal is at 11:30.
Homework Policy:
Homework that is assigned nightly is due the next school day, unless otherwise stated. Saint Mary School has a recommendation of approximately 10 minutes of homework each night per grade level. This equals about 40 to 50 minutes of homework nightly for your child this includes studying their spelling words. Not every student will have this much each night. It depends on the individual child, and if they are utilizing their time in class wisely. Students will have a black three ring study binder that should go back and forth between school and home each night. Corrected work will be sent home on Fridays in student “Friday Folders”. Please empty these folders and look through your child’s work. Friday folders should be returned to school with students the following Monday.
Sick Make-Up Work Policy:
Students will have two days to complete their work for each day of school they are absent. Students that are absent will receive a red “ketchup” folder with their absent work in it. If you plan on picking up absent work for your child please email me so that I can have this ready as soon as possible.
Early Pickups:
When picking up your child for an appointment please contact the school office first and your student will meet you there.
Birthday or Special Event
Any birthday/special event treats must be announced at least one week prior to bringing to class. No homemade treats are allowed. All treats must be individually wrapped/prepackaged from the store. Please be sure to include dietary information due to allergy and dietary restrictions.
