Grading

My program aims to foster an interest in fine arts, develop independent problem solving skills, and encourage uniqueness.

Kindergarten grades are based on Following Directions and Class Participation.

My rubric is as follows:

  • Following Directions

    • M = Did not forget steps / all requirements met

    • P = Some requirements met

    • NI = No requirements met

  • Class Participation

    • M = engaged / answering questions

    • P = contributed a comment

    • NI = distracted / no comments

Report card grades in First through Eighth grade are based on effort in production of assignments and class participation. Artistic ability only gets you so far. Art skills, like most things, require practice. Deadlines are expected to be met, maximum effort is encouraged in all the student does.
