Staff Bios

Hello! My name is Kayla Black and I am a senior at SJHS, taking journalism this year. This will be my third year participating in this class. This year, you can expect me to write about important events, sports, and student life! Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym, playing volleyball, listening to music, and taking naps. I hope that this year's newspaper is the best that we have ever produced, and encourages students to want to take journalism next year.

Hi! My name is Courtney Mentecki, and I am a senior at Saint Joseph High School. I have done journalism for three years.   My hobbies include listening to music, going to the gym, and cheerleading. This year, you can expect me to write about upcoming school events and review current popular trends. My hope for the school newspaper is to help bring the school together and to inform students of what is going on around SJHS.  

Hi, My name is Brayden Ehrman and this is my 3rd year taking journalism. I am in the class of 2027 and am super excited to work on the yearbook and help with the newspaper. You can expect me to write about everything opinion-related. I am excited to hear about what people think about my articles. I hope we can all have a fun year.

Hi, my name is Chloe D'amico, and I'm a Junior at SJHS. This is my third year taking Journalism. Outside of school I play softball and soccer. Some of my other hobbies include listening to music, working at a tanning salon, and spending time with my friends and family. I hope to write more about school events and be more involved in school activities.

Bonjour! My name is Sydney McKinzie and I'm a junior at SJHS. I took journalism my freshman year and am excited to be back. I cannot wait to write about events in the world and our school, and also the music and musicals at Saint Joes. Outside school I spend all my time in musical theater, I love to sing and dance. I hope for the future, journalism continues to grow and help people write and read the newspaper.

Outside of school I like to listen to music, and hang out with my friends and family. My goal for this year is to get better at writing and contribute to the school community.

Hi, my name is Gabby Carvens. I am a fifteen- year- old sophomore here at St. Joe’s. This is my second year on the journalism team, and I can’t wait to continue to share my articles with you all. You can expect me to write practically everything, from serious events going on around us, to small little fun things that happened recently. Some of my hobbies include volleyball, and softball , (which I play for the school), and reading. Hi, my name is Mark Andriscin, and I am a 16 year old from Saint Joseph High School. It is my first year doing journalism. My hobbies are playing golf and listening to music. My goals for this year are to become a better overall writer.

Hi! My name is Ava Myers. I am 15 years old and a freshman at St. Joseph High School. I enjoy playing and listening to music, reading, writing, and traveling. I am also part of the Cross Country, Bowling, and Cheer teams at St. Joes. You can expect me to write about the band, choir, and musical. My goal for this year is to learn as much as I can and improve my writing skills. I am looking forward to a great first year in Journalism!

Hi, my name is Addy Gouza. I am 14 years old, and this is my first year at SJHS. I am super excited to be a part of the yearbook staff. I will be writing about a variety of topics, such as sports, freshmen based events, and more. I love to play sports such as softball and volleyball. I play softball for AC Rivers Fury 14U and plan on playing for the school. I am a catcher, third baseman, and first baseman. I love my friends, family, and Jesus. My hope for the 2025-2026 newspaper is to inform students as much as possible about events that occur in our school. In conclusion, I am super excited to be in journalism and hope to get better at writing.
