Born on July 23, 1941, Sergio Mattarella lived in Plaermo. After receiving his Law Degree at age 23, Sergio had a dissertation for "Public Policy Guidelines." Just 3 years later in 1967, being admitted to the Palermo Bar Association, he went on to teach parliamentary law at the Law School for over 20 years. He cut his time teaching short when he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies. He then became Minister multiple times first for Relations with Parliament, then became Minister of Education for 2 years, he was Deputy Prime Minister, and also Minister of Defense. He would choose not to run for 2008 elections and put an end to his political activity, but was elected on January 31, 2015, as the twelfth President of the Republic; and was re-elected again on January 29th, 2022.
Before Italy became a country, it was part of the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont which was ruled by King Charles Albert. Before most of the government's power was controlled by the king, but as time passed power grew out of the kingdom and to ministers. Italy and other countries grew out of the Kingdom due to its end. Italy was known as a monarchy for many years, but after WWII, on June 2, 1946, the Italians voted through a referendum to replace the current monarchy government with a republic.
Being raised in Garbatell, a town in central Rome, Giorgia Meloni joined the Italian Social Movement at age 15. After the party was renamed she was elected as the president of the organization. She became popular and in 1998 became a council to the province government in Rome. After consistent effort and hard work she was added to the Chambers of Deputies, and finally at age 31 she became the youngest minister in postwar Italian political history.
