Stem: Introducing Robotics to Kids in Stem Class from 5th to 8th grade

What is Sphero? The Who, What, and Why.

This compact robot, measuring about the same size as a ping pong ball, is perfect for beginners, offering intuitive coding and a range of features that make it a fun and engaging tool for exploring the world of STEAM.
Sphero mini is an ideal programmable robot for students of all ages and stages. Beginners can drive and play STEM- inspired games and more experienced learners can advance to programming the Sphero with block-based coding in the sphero edu app.

What is a Finch Robot and how does it work?

The Finch responds to light, temperature, and obstacles, among many other capabilities. It also has support for a range of programming languages and environments, with coding options for students from ages 5 to 105! The Finch is designed to allow students to write richly interactive programs.

What is an Ozobot Robot and how does it work?

The Ozobot is programmed to follow black, red, green, and blue paths that control its movement and speed in different directions. The interesting thing about the Ozobot is that it functions atop tablets as well as traditional physical surfaces like paper. The goal of the Ozobot is to introduce kids to simple coding and, at the same time, teach skills such as deductive reasoning while expanding their imaginations.
