Week of May 25

Here's to the last week of May!

  • 4th grade - We will be having a Zoom meeting on Friday, May 29. The Zoom meeting link was sent to your parents on Tuesday. Remember, your work for Mrs. Lasky and Miss Geonnotti takes priority over any work for Math Enrichment. If you have your balloon powered car or another project, you can present your project at this meeting.
  • 5th grade - This week's focus is on the Performance Assessment which is due on Friday, May 29. Students were given detailed instructions during last week's Thursday Zoom meeting. Please be sure to have students upload pictures and documents of their project by Friday. We will have a regular Zoom meeting on Tuesday at 11 am. The meeting on Thursday at 11 am is OPTIONAL if students need help with their performance assessments. We will also have a MANDATORY Zoom meeting on Friday, May 29 at 11 am where students will present their performance assessments. The only other work students will be doing are the maintenance sheets.

  • 7th & 8th 21st CCLC math tutoring - Since there was no school on Monday due to Memorial Day, I will be offer tutoring on Wednesday: 3-4:30 (8th grade) and 4:30 - 6 (7th grade); the times are switched for the grades so students can attend tutoring with Mr. McDonald if they would like.

Week of May 18

Greetings! Here are the announcements for this week:

  • 4th grade - There is no school on Friday, so we will not have a Zoom meeting. Our next meeting is TBD. Remember, the activities are optional and your schoolwork for Mrs. Lasky and Miss Geonnotti always take priority.
  • 5th grade - We will have Zoom meetings on Tuesday and Thursday at 11 am of this week. I will send the meeting links to your parents and will post the information on Google classroom. Thursday's Zoom meeting is especially important because I will be discussing the final project/assessment of the year. I strongly encourage you to complete all work by Thursday so that you can devote your energy and attention to the final project,

Week of May 12

I hope you and your family enjoyed a nice long weekend! Here are the announcements for this week:

  • 4th grade - We will have a Zoom meeting on Friday at 1:00 and I will send out the meeting information this week. If you completed the balloon toy car project, please send me a video or pictures via email and be ready to explain your project at this week's Zoom meeting.
  • 5th grade - Our Zoom meetings are on Tuesday and Thursday of this week, both at 11:00 am. On Wednesday morning, I will post the Quiz over dividing decimals; please have the quiz completed no later than 1:00 pm on Thursday. Next week, you will be given detailed instructions over the final project in 5th grade Advanced Math during the Zoom meeting on Thursday, May 21. You will not be taking a written or online exam, but will be completing a project/performance assessment involving geometry starting Thursday, May 21 which will be due on Friday, May 29. The project/performance assessment should be fun!
  • 6th grade - Our Zoom meetings are on Tuesday and Thursday of this week, both at 10:00 am. We will continue to learn about surface area and later, volume, which will prepare you for the final project in 6th grade Advanced Math. Next week, you will be given detailed instructions over the final project in 6th grade Advanced Math during the Zoom meeting on Thursday, May 21. You will not be taking a written or online exam, but will be completing a project/performance assessment on surface area and volume starting Thursday, May 21 which will be due on Friday, May 29. The project/performance assessment should be fun!
  • 7th and 8th grade Math - With no school on Monday, there will be no Math tutoring through 21st CCLC this week.

Week of May 4

Welcome to the first full week of May! May the Lord bless you and your families as we near the end of the school year.

4th grade - We will have a Zoom meeting on Friday at 1:00 and I will send out the meeting information this week. We had a great 1st meeting last Friday. I look forward to seeing your projects on Friday!

5th grade - We have started using Google Classroom which I hope will make it easier for you to learn virtually. Be sure to check Google Classroom on a daily basis for any updates. Zoom meetings will be this Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00.

6th grade - On Tuesday, you will be having a Quiz over Geometry/Area. Be sure to complete the Quiz review and check your answers Tuesday morning. You can ask any last minute questions during our Zoom meeting. Zoom meetings will be on Tuesday and Thursday of this week at 10:00.

7th & 8th - I will be tutoring through 21st CCLC on Monday from 3-6.

Week of April 27

It's hard to believe this is the last week of April! Thank you for all of your support during the last few weeks. The end is in sight!

4th grade has their 1st Zoom meeting on Friday. I sent the Zoom meeting information this weekend and hope to see students on Friday. I will be posting a Math Enrichment Activity on Monday for the week.

5th grade has 2 Zoom meetings this week, one on Tuesday at 11:00 and another on Thursday at 11:00 am. A master schedule was sent out on Sunday. Please remind students to take the Chapter 12 Multiplying Decimals Assessment on Tuesday.

6th grade has 2 Zoom meetings this week, one on Tuesday and another on Thursday at 10 am. The master schedule was sent on Sunday. Students will continue to learn about geometry this week and will take an assessment next week.

I am available to tutor 7th & 8th grade students in Math through 21st CCLC on Mondays: 3-4:30 7th grade and 4:30-6 8th grade. Please see Google classroom for the Zoom meeting information. I hope to see you!

Week of April 20

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday! Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Also, if your child cannot attend a Zoom meeting, please let me know. I will be taking participation grades for Zoom meetings.

4th grade has a Math Enrichment Activity and a Google form to complete for the week.

5th grade has 2 Zoom meetings this week, one on Tuesday at 11:00 am and another on Thursday at 11:00 am. A master schedule was sent out on Sunday from Sr. Shaun with the link and password for the meetings. Please remind your child to check my webpage on a daily basis for assignments and deadlines.

6th grade has 2 Zoom meetings this week, one on Monday at 11:00 am and another on Wednesday at 11:00 am. A master schedule was sent out on Sunday from Sr. Shaun with the link and password for the meetings. Please remind your child to check Google classroom on a daily basis for assignments and deadlines. On Monday, April 20, the Chapter 11 Assessment is due by midnight for 6th grade. Students are to take this assessment by themselves without help from books, the internet, or other people.

On Friday, I will be posting an optional Math enrichment activity. Please send me pictures of your child's project if he or she completes the enrichment activity.

Week of April 13

Happy Easter! I hope you and your families enjoyed a blessed Holy Week and Easter and will continue to enjoy a blessed Easter week! As we continue with distance learning, please remember to remind your child of upcoming deadlines and assignments.

4th grade has 2 Google forms to complete for the week. The Google form over the order of operations is very challenging!

For 5th grade, assignments, deadlines and notes are posted here on my Google site. The 5th grade has homework due on Friday.

For 6th grade, assignments, deadlines and notes are on Google classroom. 6th grade has homework due for the next few days, as well as an online assessment on Monday over Chapter 11. The online assessment will be posted in Google classroom on Sunday evening.

On Friday, I will be posting an optional Math enrichment activity. Please send me pictures of your child's project if he or she completes the enrichment activity.

If your child needs help with any concepts or needs an extension for any assignment, please feel free to contact me. I am more than willing and available to email, talk on the phone or hold Zoom meetings. Please remind your child to attend Zoom meetings on a regular basis. I will be taking participation grades during our Zoom meetings. If your child is unable to attend a Zoom meeting, please let me know.
