• 🎃 Annual Halloween Bazaar (Friday, October 30)! 👻 Mark your calendars! Our annual SBS Halloween Bazaar is coming up on Friday, October 30, and we can’t wait for an afternoon of Halloween fun! The Bazaar will take place in the school parking lot, with grade levels attending at the following times: PK3–2nd Grade from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and all students from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

  • Here’s what you need to know:

• Fun Dress Day or Costume Contest: Students can enjoy a fun dress day or participate in our annual costume contest!

• Game Bracelets: All students will need to purchase a $10 bracelet to play games this year. This helps offset the cost of hosting our Halloween Bazaar. A form will be sent home soon with instructions for purchasing your child’s bracelet.

• Volunteers Needed! Our Bazaar would not be possible without our amazing volunteers! Please consider signing up to work a booth. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members are welcome, but all volunteers must be Safe Environment trained.

• More Fun to Come! Students can look forward to games, prizes, a photo booth, a food booth, and our annual bake-off. More details about the bake-off and other activities will be shared soon!

• 🛍️ The SBS Spirit Shop is OPEN for business! 🐼 Show your Panda pride and check out all the SBS swag available for purchase. 💙💛 

• 💗 GEAUX PINK! 💗 On Friday, October 16, students may show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink shirts, pink hats, and pink accessories with blue jeans and tennis shoes in exchange for a donation. All proceeds will benefit Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Let’s wear our pink and make a difference! 💕

• After-School Activities & Aftercare: If your child participates in an after-school activity and attends aftercare, please send a note if they will not be attending aftercare following the activity. Since students are not always sure of their dismissal plans, having a note from home helps us ensure everyone gets to the correct location. We appreciate your help!

• (REPEAT) Beginning Monday, 10/12, 4th-grade students and their siblings will be dismissed from Funderburk Avenue. We are hoping this change will help decrease the dismissal line and the amount of time it takes to get everyone home each afternoon. Starting 10/12, 4th-grade parents will not enter the teacher parking lot. Instead, please continue straight on Funderburk Avenue and pick up your child near the main gate area. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to make afternoon dismissal as smooth and efficient as possible!

• The Louisiana Catholic Schools Student of the Year Awards Program recognizes outstanding fifth-grade students from across the state who exemplify discipleship, leadership, service, citizenship, and academic achievement.

To qualify, students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 for their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade years (using the first semester average for 5th grade). Fifth-grade students who meet these qualifications will receive additional information on Tuesday, October 20th, in their test folder. St. Bernadette School encourages all qualifying fifth-grade students to take part in this wonderful opportunity.

• The St. Bernadette Disciples In Action club will be hosting the annual pumpkin decorating contest. All PK3–7th grade students can participate. Please click here for more information. 

• 👻 Boo Grams Are Here! 🎃 The SBS Mother’s Club is selling Boo Grams! Students can send a little Halloween surprise to their friends or even their entire class. Please see the graphic below or click this link to place your order. All orders must be returned to school by Friday, October 16. The Mother’s Club can’t wait to Boo your child’s classroom! 👻

• (REPEAT) Saddle up for our Boot-Scootin’ Fall Book Fair! Beginning Monday, October 5, you can visit the Book Fair website to preview books and create an eWallet for your child. Extracurricular Updates

• 🏆 Beta Club:  All Beta members must turn in their finished MacDonell Children's Home "Teen Card Project" that was started at the meeting to a grade-level Beta rep. or sponsor by Tues. 10/13 please. *Beta officers will be helping at VCHS "Treats at the Track" Oct. 27th.  (An info. form was given to each officer at the recent Beta meeting...Officers, please return as soon as possible.) Beta will be selling small American flags for $1 in preparation for the SBS Veterans ceremony.  4th-7th Beta members can sign up for a specific day on the chart found on the Beta bulletin board (7th hallway) to sell flags at a 7:20-7:50 AM shift happening from Nov. 2nd - Nov. 10th. *Service half hour can be earned for those who need it.* Congrats to all "new" Beta Elem. & Beta Jr. members who received their National certificates & pins at our last meeting! All members should check the Beta Google Classroom (important info. spot).  

• 🌟 Beta Convention: Students received information regarding the events they have been selected to participate in this week. Parents, please review this information with your child. Should you need to make any changes, the student should speak to Mrs. Drickamer. Please send convention payment and the completed form with T-shirt size before Friday, October 23. Any student wanting to participate in more events should review the available spots in the Beta Google Classroom. If a student did not sign up for convention and would like to participate, they should see Mrs. Drickamer regarding any available spots.

• ♟️Chess Club: Please see the following dates for our meetings: October 23, November 20, December 18, January 29, February 26, March 19, April 30, and May 14.

• 🎶 Choir: Please read this updated newsletter (10/9/26) from Mr. Klaus. The Live Nativity form link is up and due by Friday, 10/23/26.

• ➕Disciples in Action (DIA): Our next DIA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 27th at 2:45 pm in the library.  Members are invited to wear their club t-shirts with uniform bottoms for the day.  Students should report to the Assembly Area and are reminded to bring a snack to enjoy before the meeting begins.  Dismissal will be at the main entrance of the school building at 4:00 pm.

• 🍀 4H Club: Thank you, Pandas, for helping us celebrate National 4H Week! Members, please refer to the monthly newsletter regarding the first Terrebonne Parish Cookery (seafood and rice) being held this Saturday morning at Montegut Middle School. Our next meeting will be held Thursday, November 5th, after school.
