Taking a hands on approach to math
Below you can find more information on what we are working on in class. Also there will be practice problems, review information and a video going over the review. I will also give information about how we are collaborating with other content areas to deepen our understanding of both subjects. oh! and upcoming projects!
In this Unit we will be learning Rational Number operations. We will start out by learning how to add and subtract positive and negative numbers. For our Term 1 project we will be creating a life size board game. Scholars will work together to create the rules and they will be related to the operations that we have learned in this unit. We will come up with how we move around the "board" and what happens when you land on certain spots. Think of Sorry, Chutes and Ladders and Candy Land but with our own twist!! We will be infusing the arts of Kinesiology AND Theater through out our game and collaborating with ELA to ensure we are creating all the necessary directions, rules and procedures that you need when you play a new game.

Remember when Multiplying and Dividing Fractions YOU DON'T NEED A COMMON DENOMINATOR!!!
Tips:
Multiply - straight across
Divide - KCF
These two will review how to multiply and divide decimals and then you must remember to apply the rules for positive and negative numbers.
Same sign= positive answer
Different Sign = Negative answer
