Understanding the brain using electrophysiology, imaging and stimulation
Center for Brain Science and Application, IIT Jodhpur offers it first workshop on measuring and analysing brain activity
from (July 2-6, 2023)
Workshop Overview
Measurement of brain activity is no longer used just to understand brain function and disease. Tools for brain activity measurements are being used for diverse applications such as neuro-marketing, development of education and training tools, and brain-computer interface devices. We present a comprehensive course for understanding brain signal acquisition and state-of-the-art neurotechnology setup using electrophysiology, imaging, and stimulation.
Targeted at
Students, faculty and practicing engineering professionals in the biomedical industry, doctors, neuroscience, computer science, electrical engineering, data science graduate students, and postdocs from various academic institutions across India.
What you will go away with?
A fundamental understanding of the practicalities of experiments and non-invasive/invasive intervention procedures, with hands-on experience in acquiring neuroimaging and electrophysiological data and analyzing and handling complex data using sophisticated toolboxes in research.

Limited to 25 participants
Requirements for the workshop
Laptop with either Windows or Mac OS.
Decent processing capacity, 4Gb RAM, a 64bit operating system, and a screen larger than 13".
Windows 32bit computer is strongly discouraged. The limitations of the memory management may result in lots of "Out of memory" errors that will make the training difficult to follow.
External mouse: Most of the manipulations are done with the mouse, and some involve an intensive use of the mouse wheel/scrolling.
Remember to bring your Power adapter!
Need MATLAB Software (> R2014b) for analysis toolboxes Brainstorm, EEGLAB and others
Please install Brainstorm before coming to the workshop. See instructions here
