The Compass

Statement of intent

The magazine is published by the Community Mathematics Centre. It is a collaborative initiative of the schools of the Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI).

Its intention is:

• To provide material for mathematics and science teachers who teach at the high school or middle school levels, and for interested students.

• To serve as a platform where teachers and students alike can share their findings and discoveries with others who share their love for the subject.

In addition to mathematical content, in each issue we shall share a few ‘snippets’ from the world of science — extracts abstracted from articles in online magazines and summarized using online tools. These will be selected on the basis of intrinsic interest or significance, or connection with the world of mathematics.

The Compass is published as an online magazine free of cost.

Articles may be downloaded and used freely by teachers, but with proper attribution.
