Film studies
Film studies will guide students through the major eras of film history and ask students to make films as well. Students will watch films from the silent era to the present and learn about the history of filmmaking and filmmakers. Our emphasis will be on cinematography, editing, and genre. As students become familiar with the terminology of film production, they will apply that knowledge to both written film analysis and creative projects.
Required Materials
Your Chromebook: you MUST bring your Chromebook with you to class every day, as we will be working with Google Classroom and Google Drive. Make sure your Chromebook is charged before coming to school so that it is ready for use during our class period.
Headphones/Earbuds/Etc.: please bring a pair of headphones/earbuds with you to class. There will be periods when you will be watching film clips on your own to complete an assignment or project, so please bring a pair of headphones/earbuds/etc. with you to each class period.
