I. WELCOME NEW UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS - FALL 2026
The Office of Academic Advising is excited to welcome you to the Russell Sage College community!
⧠ Fall 2026 classes begin on Monday, August 24, 2026 (Academic Calendar)
⧠ Below are notes to help you achieve academic success in your first term through --> Graduation.
II. CLASS SCHEDULE NOTES**
**All new enrolled undergraduate First year/Freshman & Transfer students (deposited) for Fall 2026 will be pre-registered for major & general education courses by the Office of Academic Advising
⧠ Pre-registration Dates: Transfer students - beginning on 5/26/26 & Freshman students - beginning on 6/16/26
⧠ Student class schedules will be inputted in order based on the enrollment deposit date
⧠ Classes are selected based on: major department recommendations, needed degree requirements, and the current course schedule (availability).
⧠ Students may view their class schedules in Self Service (sss.sage.edu). Go to Passport – Menu – Resources – Self Service – Student Planning – Plan & Schedule - Fall 2026
⧠ Schedule change requests (if needed) - Students may request changes to their schedules via email, academicadvising@sage.edu -or- during the New Student Orientation (Link)
III. GENERAL SCHEDULE NOTES
⧠ To qualify for full-time financial aid & scholarships students must be registered for 12 required credits (minimum). Required credits are credits needed for degree completion.
⧠ Full-time students complete 15-16 credits per term. (15-16cr is recommended to graduate on time).
⧠ Student class schedule information is listed and viewable in Self Service – Student Planning on the Plan & Schedule screen by Term (Registered courses are listed in Green with a Green check mark).
⧠ Sage Class Times: most UG day class sections are taught during the Day and In Person.
⧠ The teaching blocks meet 1.5 hours on Mon+Thu 8:00 AM to 5:20 PM and Tue+Fri 8:00 AM to 5:20 PM. A few art studio courses are offered in the evening, Mon/Thu 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM; Wednesdays: Studio classes and Science Lab classes.
⧠ Wait-listed Courses: students will be sent an email from the Registrar’s Office to their Sage Email account when a seat becomes available. Note: academic department chairs are tracking course wait-lists and may add seats or new sections as needed.
⧠ Missing Transfer Credits? Transfer credits are listed in Self Service (Academics Menu – Transfer Summary link)
→ View your Transfer Summary report to be sure ALL of your previous college credits including AP credits are listed
→ Official transcripts may be sent to admission@sage.edu (Admission Office). View the Transfer Credit Guide for more information

V. ACADEMIC CHECKLIST: Fall 2026
⧠ Log-in to Passport (Sage portal), passport.sage.edu. Go to the Passport Menu – Resources – Self Service – Student Planning
⧠ View and bookmark additional Passport Apps: Google Account (Sage Gmail), Resources Menu (Moodle, Password Reset), RSC Service Center (Sage IT Helpdesk), Zoom
⧠ Set up the Sage Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) process on smartphone (instructions)
⧠ Be sure to check your new Sage Email (@sage.edu) account regularly!! At least once Daily.
⧠ View Academic information in Self Service – Student Planning. 1. My Progress (degree requirements) and 2. Plan & Schedule (class schedule/registration). See Understanding My Progress Guide [PDF]
⧠ Faculty Advisor (major): your Faculty Advisor’s name & contact information is listed in Student Planning – My Progress in the At a Glance section. Click on the Show Program Notes link
⧠ Transfer Credits are listed in Self Service (in Self Service, go to the Academics Menu – Transfer Summary link)
→ Check your Transfer Summary to be sure ALL of your previous college credits including AP credits are listed.
→ Transfer credits are uploaded by the Admission Office & verified the Registrar’s Office.

⧠ View Tuition Due Dates. Tuition bills, statements & payment plan information is in Self Service – Student Finance. View and complete Financial Aid tasks using Self Service – Financial Aid
⧠ Textbooks: Sage students are responsible for purchasing their textbooks and supplies. Note: Sage has Two Bookstores.
→ Research book costs in Student Planning – Plan & Schedule. Click on the Course Title. A pop up will appear (Section Details). Scroll to the bottom. Click on the Bookstore information link.
*Textbooks for Albany class sections are available in Albany Bookstore.
*Textbooks for Troy class sections are available in the Troy bookstore.
→ Need money for textbooks? Contact finaid@sage.edu, to see if you have enough aid or refund money to help with books and supplies at a Sage Bookstore.
⧠ Moodle: Log-in to moodle.sage.edu, Sage’s online learning platform. *Tutorials are available in Moodle. *NOTE: most courses in Moodle will go Live just before the start of the term or on the first day of the term (the class will become visible in your Moodle My Courses List) .
⧠ View your Class Schedule – Self Service – Student Planning: Daily - Monday, 8/24/26 to Friday, 8/28/26
— Go to the Plan & Schedule screen to view the Classroom Locations, Campus, & Textbook information
— Check Sage Gmail for emails from Professors
⧠ Fall 2026 classes begin: Monday, August 24, 2026
— Email your Faculty Advisor (major) if you have concerns about your classes and need to make schedule changes
⧠ Fall 2026 Schedule Changes must be completed by Friday, August 28, 2026 (-Add/Drop deadline). **Note: after 8/28/26, class drop requests will be recorded as Withdrawal (W grade). Contact academicadvising@sage.edu for instructions.
