This is our advice to you before you make your entry video.  Don't look at the entry passage just yet. When you submit your video, you should use the first video you make, because that will be an authentic representation of what you might do at the contest. If you make multiple videos, it will not be true to your actual performance ability. 

「予選用課題」を作成する上でのアドバイスをまとめました。

第22回「こすもす杯」の「予選用課題」はまだ見ないでください。最初に撮影した動画で応募してください。それこそがあなたの実際の力を示すものだからです。何度も取り直しをして提出した動画は、あなたの力を示すものではありません。

So, what you should do BEFORE you make your video is to not look at the entry passage yet and, instead, practice using other 300 word passages. Here on the website we have listed all of our old passages that we have used in previous years.  Use those passages to practice the process. 

動画を撮る前に、参考課題文で練習しましょう。参考課題文はこの応募用サイトからダウンロードできます。これらの課題文は、過去の暗唱大会で使用したもので、少し難しい単語も出てきますが、練習用として活用してください。

Print them out, then get ready. Flip one over and look at it for 20 minutes, making any notes in the margins that you want, and practice out loud as many times as you can. Then, after 20 minutes, do your "performance". How did you do? If you did great, go ahead and use the real entry passage and make your video. If you didn't do so great, use some of the other passages to practice and try again. We recommend that you read aloud while looking in a mirror or take a selfie video with a smartphone. It may also be useful to have teachers, friends, and parents watch your practice reading and give you advice.

参考課題文を印刷し、裏返して机の上に置きます。タイマーと筆記具も用意してください。20分間で内容を理解し、朗読の準備をしてください。紙の余白にメモを書き込んでもいいですし、マーカーで強く読むところを強調するのもいいでしょう。時間いっぱいまで声を出して読み、表情やジェスチャーも工夫しましょう。

20分たったら、実際の朗読大会のように、実際に目の前に聞いている人がいると想定して朗読します。うまくいかなかったら、何度も練習しましょう。鏡を見ながら朗読したり、スマホなどで自撮り録画するのもおすすめです。自分の朗読を、先生や友達、保護者の方に見てもらいアドバイスをもらうのも役に立ちます。

When you are sure you are ready, then look at the entry passage for the first time, practice for the 20 minutes, and make your video. Send that first video, because that is a true example of your ability.  

このように「初見の英文を20分で読み、理解し、練習して、朗読する」を何度か繰り返し、自信がついたら「第21回予選用課題」の朗読動画を撮影し、応募してください。
