About Safe Place for Youth (SPY)

Our Mission

To empower young people experiencing homelessness to thrive by providing lasting, community-driven solutions that address racial and social inequity.

As the lead homeless service provider for youth throughout West Los Angeles, we serve over 1,200 homeless & at-risk youth annually with 10 core programs aimed at meeting the unique needs of young people between the ages of 12-25. Our robust continuum provides housing, low barrier drop-in services, health and wellness programming, case management, education/employment services, healing arts, and more.

Every donation gives young people experiencing homelessness access to support and services that empower them to thrive.

The Color of Hope Collective was inspired and created by 3 youth artists who desired a voice in their community and to sell their art. Now comprised of the youth who participate in Healing Arts Programming at Safe Place for Youth, the collective aims to help empower and build skills for its members. 70% of all proceeds go directly to the artist, 30% goes to supporting our mission.

The Healing Arts Program at SPY offers youth participants a safe environment for creative expression. Youth who participate in the Healing Arts program at SPY are more likely to pursue other programming, making it a gateway to education and employment opportunities, case management, and permanent housing.
