SAFEhouse (Saving Art from Extinction) for the Performing Arts (referred to as "SAFEhouse") is a cooperative community arts organization with a special focus on contemporary dance and provides creative space for a diverse range of Bay Area artists through residencies, events, skill-building and leadership. Our work is dedicated to promoting arts education and building a vibrant and inclusive San Francisco arts community.
RAW (resident artist workshop) a quarterly residency program that supports approximately 15-30 artists per year. * The AIRspace Award for QTBIPOC Artists - a thirty-year old program that is a series of annual, paid fellowships offered that support the development of new artistic works and professional development. * The West Wave Festival and Conference - a thirty-year old annual arts festival that sponsors the development of new artistic works. SAFEhouse Arts is currently under the new leadership of Executive Director Jesse Bie and Co-Director/Technical Director Colin Johnson

SAFEhouse has a NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds) policy for our shows. If you don't have the money to pay for a ticket, just let us know at the box office. We'd rather have your butts in the audience. Art should be accessible to everyone!
