"Masks On"I've been really focusing on photography and I thought this pandemic would be a perfect time to do a "six feet apart" photoshoot and get pictures that reflect what we are witnessing now.

I made this piece as a twist on Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam." The hands are situated in the same way as God and Adam's hands in Michelangelo's piece, but they are wearing the rubber gloves that have become so prominent in today's society. The hands are also located in a vast and lonely galaxy scene to represent the emotions around social distancing. Ending my senior year alone at home instead of making memories with friends has been difficult and I aimed to manifest my frustrations in this piece.

I started a business with a friend called "Strength by String" (@strengthbystring on instagram). We make kits so that others kids can help make friendship bracelets and beaded bracelets. Then we donate the bracelets to the children and nurses at MSK pediatrics as well as nurses on the frontlines of the pandemic.

"Better Safe than Sorry"I made this piece at the very beginning of quarantine. I was dealing with the conflict of wanting to sneak out but also wanting to keep me and my family safe. I made this piece as a reminder that the temptation was strong but not worth the risk.

My dad had his birthday during quarantine. I wanted it to still be special so I made him this watercolor based off of a picture my grandpa took last summer. On the boat I’m his first mate, and the water is his happy place. In quarantine it’s very important to me to appreciate moments like the one in the picture and like birthdays.

My family has been walking about six miles a day, we spend a lot of time outdoors and a lot of time exercising. It helps keep us distracted, healthy and active during quarantine. On one of our walks we passed through a cool tunnel with graffiti on the walls. I took this picture of my sister with her mask on. Even though we have been very strictly quarantining and don't think we have the virus, we want to help normalize mask-wearing.

Personally, I have always disliked painting because it’s just a media I have never attempted and I’m scared of messing up art works of mine. But I figured with all this time on my hands, I might as well try something that I’m not really into. So I decided I’d try giving painting a go. I definitely need to keep working at it, but I really enjoyed the process of the project.

A Multipurpose Park for Social Distancing
For my architecture studio class this past spring we were challenged to design a space that addresses a problem or need during pandemics while allowing people to stay isolated and safe. For my project I designed a multipurpose park as a place for exercise and play that allows people to stay 6 feet apart at all times or go into isolated play areas.

On the second day of quarantine, I woke up knowing that I was going to spend my next four years at the University of Delaware. Though the weight of making a decision was off my shoulders, I along with several other seniors in the class of 2020, did not get to share our decision with our friends, teachers, and administrators in person. So I got to planning and a few weeks later my roommate and I launched our business, @college.tailgate on Instagram. We focus on creating clothes and other items to give incoming freshman and other college students missing their schools something to wear and remind them of the place that will or does put a smile on their face. We just started selling face masks, as pictured. With the trajectory of the virus and the high possibility of face masks becoming the newest accessory, we decided to make face masks that show your pride for a school, team, or just about anything else:) All proceeds from the masks will be donated to "Americares." "Americares" saves lives and improves health for people affected by poverty or disaster so they can reach their full potential,” particularly in the time of COVID-19.

My best friend and I have been facetiming essentially every night during quarantine. Our conversations have covered a wide variety of our emotions: worrying, stress, excitement, disappointment, fear etc. We sometimes play a game where we set a timer for five minutes and draw a "mood" square with each other virtually. We draw abstract shapes and lines that represent our emotions at that particular time. The only rules to the game are that it must fit within a square and that it must be completely abstract. The game started out as a joke but it is actually very relaxing and fun!

During quarantine, especially as a senior, there is a lot I am missing out on. However, one opportunity that has come out of all of this is to explore nature. I have gone on walks and hikes and spent time in my yard more than ever. I try to focus on this silver lining and take time each day to appreciate the beauty that spring has to offer.

I started selling my chokers during the summer of 2019, but decided to revive my jewelry business recently due to the high demand during Covid-19. Making jewelry has always been a stress-reliever for me, and it has been so surprising, yet overwhelming by how much popularity my chokers are getting. It is important to me that I am spending my time productively during Quarantine, making people happy, and spending more time doing the things I’m most passionate about. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces after receiving my jewelry makes my day!

Mr. Yonce, the St. Andrew's Arts Department Chair, organized a song and slide show presentation for Chapel. Students performed the song "Rainbow" by Kacey Musgraves and a slide show of Rainbow-themed art like Alice's was presented.The rainbow theme aimed to spread joy and encouragement.

Ms. Monmaney, Lower School art teacher, does a point perspective project each year for the fifth grade class. This was the first time doing the project from home and she remarked how this was also the first time she had ever seen a hospital appear in one of the drawings.

"Barney Stinson Challenge Collage" I found it very difficult to adjust to the new virtual working environment. I decided to challenge myself and see if I could wear a suit every school day until quarantine was over. I called it the “Barney Stinson Challenge” because Barney Stinson from the TV show ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is well known for loving his suits. I chose to do this because I wanted to prove that just because we are in a time of quarantine doesn’t mean we should let it bring our spirits down. People in my classes have found it funny and said they appreciate my positive attitude. It has been fun for me and I’m glad I’ve put a smile on some of my peers’ faces during this time.

Ever since I discovered the symmetry feature on procreate I have been obsessed with making these kinds of drawings. I get into a very peaceful, relaxed state of mind when working on them. "Look to the Stars"Making quilts has provided a great balance to my career as a counselor/therapist. During this COVID19 quarantine, my home work space has been overtaken by fabric. "Wholeseome Things"The reference picture was from one of the many stupid and spontaneous photoshoots done during rehearsal for Legally Blonde. I had been meaning to draw out this picture anyways, since I liked the composition, but the priority went up a lot after the switch to self quarantine. Oliver, Charlotte, and David are not only extremely talented and will go on to enhance the St. Andrew's theater program, but they are also three of the most professional, funny, and kind people I have ever worked with and I worried that I would not have the chance to truly show them my appreciation in person.

"Our Town Seniors"The reference picture was taken just before the opening of 'Our Town' this fall. Caroline, Leo, James, Liv, and Mickey were my fellow seniors in the cast and, though we had cried our hearts out during both the Our Town and Legally Blonde cast parties, I still wanted to do something for them to tell them how much I appreciated their support as I both acted alongside them for the past three years and as I tried to direct them for both school productions this year. Their leadership and passion helped to make the SAES theater community as welcoming and close as it currently is.

"Flooded Future"This was my final piece for my AP Art and Design Concentration and my final piece as a St. Andrew's art student. Unfortunately I could not have the satisfaction and closure of completing it alongside my classmates and instead did it in a makeshift studio in my home. It depicts a flooded New York city and addresses some of the themes surrounding climate change- another major threat looming over the planet.
