'Anonymous Anteaters' is an indie game development studio based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. It was founded on September 17, 2024.

Reign of the Abyss is a couch Co-op Diablo-inspired isometric style focused on magic combat as well as melee combat with various different characters to choose from.
The enemies you encounter and battle have formed alliances and will also attack other factions within the game, so watch out for stray spells from these battles. Levels will end with a big boss battle combining various aspects of enemies you encounter throughout the level and will require teamwork from all of the players.
With a deep magic system at your disposal, with each spell feeling and interacting with the world and enemies in different ways due to various other characteristics that each spell can have, you will have multiple different ways to approach each encounter.
Status effects and a variety of spell characteristics will ensure that both ranged and melee combat is deep and can be combined by players to create interesting experiences and unique situations. This will be achieved by ensuring that orthogonal design is implemented modularly.

Ida was abandoned as a child, left on the doorstep of a small cottage deep in the heart of an ancient forest. The village was home to a coven of witches who practised their craft in harmony with nature, seeking to understand the balance between magic and the earth. The witches, kind-hearted but stern in their ways, took the child in as one of their own. They saw that Ida had a rare potential for druidic magic - an innate connection to the living world that went beyond the conventional spells and rituals they practised.
From the witches, she learned the art of potion-making, divination, and herbalism. Still, it was with the druids who occasionally visited the coven that Ida learned the deeper, more primal aspects of magic shapeshifting, communing with spirits and calling upon the wild forces of nature to protect and heal. She learned to call upon the earth’s power for strength.
Although Ida had a strong bond with the witches who raised her and the druids who trained her, she never felt like she genuinely belonged until, one day, a mysterious group of fighters and witches passed through her village in a travelling cart. They saw her abilities and asked her to join their mission to defeat the ethereal boss, De’Lisi.
Special character abilities are using potions to give herself and other players buffs like strenght and healing as well as throwing splash potions at enemies to weaken them with poison, stun them.
