RPL is a process that involves the assessment of an individual’s relevant prior learning or experience. The process of RPL takes into account the knowledge and skills required to fulfil the learning outcomes of accredited units/competencies. This can be acquired through education, previous qualifications, work experience and/or life experience. The process for applying for RPL will involve your request being reviewed by a senior academic who will determine appropriate RPL and we will notify you with the outcome.
NB: Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor and Masters are all acceptable prior learning levels. Certificates do not hold enough weight against learning outcomes
Evidence to support an application for RPL include: formal or informal qualifications; references; samples of work; project briefs; reports; publications, employment history; and employment position descriptions.
This evidence will be used to determine the credit outcomes of an individual’s application for credit.
Please submit your RPL applications as early as possible during the admission process and no later than the end of week 1 of the upcoming trimester. This will ensure your application is assessed before the census date, which is the last day to finalise your enrolment.
