CELESTE

I made good of a new Max For Live device - Inspired By Nature to create randomised ambient loops. I have automated a low pass filter as well as some track levels to add subtle changes to match the wind coming in and out.

SPIDERMAN

Producing for Celeste was a completely different taks to producing for Spiderman. While Celeste was very minimal and used a total of 6 long loops, Spiderman was required a number of changes to match the varying levels of intensity, and action of the gameplay.

In total I used 38 tracks to create this soundtrack. A lot of it comprised of doubled up layers panned with the same harmony played by a variety of instruments. I spent a fair amount of time on this project, was quite challenging but was pretty happy with my first attempt at producing for a game.

CHILDREN OF MEN - CAR SCENE

I deliberately avoided watching this film, but was able to get a general idea of what this science fiction action thriller was about. During my research, one comment that stood out to me was descriging the approach of the original score as wanting to represent the "spiritual footprint" of the film rather then composing music to the visuals. The score was more about representing the spirit of the film "rather than a narrative support".

After watching the scene many times, the vibe I was sensing was more to do with the chaotic sad state of humanity that I was picking up from the scene. This became the inspiration for what I created.

Wanting to make the most of my time at SAE, I have tried steer clear of making hip hop beats but couldn't ressist the temptation and squeezed in a couple hip hop flavoured tracks.
