Raised in artistic home in the lush surroundings of the Lamington National Park, I Developed a keen eye for Photography at a young age and dabbled in many artistic endeavours before starting my Bachelor of Design in 2021

I aim for a Minimal, abstract style with both my photography and design and have developed many skills this year that have brought the two together for a cohesive mixture of captured and constructed.

For this project I was lucky enough to link up with Renee, a Music production student that writes Ambient Electronic Music. Upon meeting one another, we discussed ideas, music and art and we quickly realised we would hit it off collaboratively. She described the notions of Coming & Going, Sky, Air and Electricity. - Pointing out some of my previous artworks that combined all three - I showed her some photography that I feel reflected what she described and she pointed out one in particular that I had taken in Vietnam a few years prior.

I was able to construct what i beleive to be a great Juxtaposition of natural shapes with mechanical structure by refelcting the image to create a structure that 'pulls' you into the depths of it, much like her music and sound design does to the listener.

BOOK COVER DESIGN

For This project, we were to design a book cover using a Double exposure artpiece. I chose to take on Victor Steffensens' Fire Country - I chose to do this book as I was both excited to try the technique with the idea I had in mind, but also because of my belief in what he proposes in the book - My family home was heavily affected by the Sarabah Fires in the Coomera Valley in 2018 and I felt like the emotional investment would cause for some good results.

I visited my family home during this project and decided to collect some material for the bookcover on an afternoon walk with my camera to the closest ridgeline that was - during the fires - considered hell on earth.

Later in the night, I rigged together a small flamethrower and shot bursts of flame at a high speed with a remote shutter and some burnt fingers.

In the book cover, I included an indigenous symbol (the book talks heavily about indigenous backburning techniques) that is used to communicate water, rivers and most fittingly - smoke / fire.

UNMASKED

During this Trimester we were faced with the task of solving a design Challenge, Placed in Groups of 4 we set our minds to solving the Problem imposed by the amount of disposable masks making their way into landfill since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic

through extensive research we found out that the chemical makeup of masks can be broken down and melted to make a type of hard plastic - one that we decided we can use to make everyday items such as skateboards.

Focusing on the collection of masks for the repurposing came hand in hand with giving people a viable option to replace them through our app, which would allow people to create their own masks with their own chosen designs whilst simultaneously helping people find drop off points for their disposable masks.

DUBAI COLLABORATION

By using a particular 'tone of voice' we can relay information in a way that personally resonates with the client's customer base.

for our collaborative class with students in Dubai, we were given a lesson on Tone of voice and how to use it effectively - grouped with our distant counterparts, we were given clients to create an advertisement for that described how to cook an egg.

I was in the group tasked with redbull and i feel as though I hit their silly, 'no-holds-barred approach to the froth' , yet slightly smug tone of voice perfectly

This short project was based around designing to a brief on a short schedule - we had a lecture from a successful past student that assigned us a brief from Palmolive for 2 Instagram tiles that had specific requirements and information needed in both of them
