Though the following guide should apply to the 7Q+ in most cases

In every case, you will have the monitor itself

The hard drive and the hard drive reader

Batteries x 2 (Sony NP Series)

Battery charger

And external power supply

If you want to record onto the hard drive with the monitor do the following steps

Remove the monitor and hard drive from the kit. Make sure that the SATA connection

is entered first

and insert fully into the monitor. The hard drive sled will only go in one way. If it feels wrong flip it 180 degrees and try that

Next, attach the battery (or external power adapter) onto the back of the monitor and switch on the monitor.

Hold down the round power button on the left side of the monitor somewhere between 3 - 5 seconds.You will see a red light flash above the button.

Once the monitor is powered, the monitor is ready for use. Attach the BNC SDI or HDMI cable to the port on the side

If the camera is set to provide an image through the BNC or HDMI output settings, then an image should appear on the monitor.

99.9% of cameras can only output either HDMI or SDI and cant do both at the same time. If you arent seeing a image try disabling the other output if possible.

If you wish to mount the monitor on your camera, please ask technical ops for a hot shoe mount or a noga / magic arm.

If you wish to use it as an external recording device, the device is touch screen and can be set up quite easily. Adjusting file format, resolution, time code etc. can all be done by going into settings or simply using your finger to touch the setting on the home screen that you wish to change.

You can lock the screen by holding down your finger on the screen for about 5 seconds. If its not responding try holding down a finger for about 5 seconds
