Hello and welcome to the TMS Visual Art Show for 2020-21!
This year, our Visual Art shows have moved to Artsonia - an online art gallery that doubles as a fundraising website. On this site, you can view and purchase copies of student artworks printed on a variety of products - such as wall hangings, mugs, t-shirts, notebooks, etc. The prices are reasonable, the products are good quality, and our school earns 20% of the cost of all purchases made on the site.
As part of this year's ArtReach service-learning project, Community Art students decided that they wanted to help Responsible Pet Care - a no-kill, nonprofit animal shelter located in Norway, Maine. All funds raised on the TMS Artsonia website through the end of the 2020-21 school year will be donated to RPC. To learn more about our service-learning project, visit the ArtReach 20-21 page of this website. To learn more about RPC, please visit their website: https://responsiblepetcare.org/
Our discovery and use of Artsonia is one of the silver linings of this COVID school-year, as we could not have in-person shows, and we needed to figure out a way to meet our goal of having an online student art show and fundraiser. After experiencing the benefits of this platform, we plan to continue using Artsonia in the future to share student art and help with our fundraising efforts. The artworks in our Artsonia gallery are from students in General Art and Community Art classes, and were selected by students for display. All students worked hard this year to develop their skills with persistence, positive interpersonal skills, creativity, and craftsmanship. Their artworks demonstrate their skills, as well as their unique voices, visions, and experiments.
Thanks to all the students who chose to include their art in this gallery, and thank you for considering making a purchase of student artwork to help us help RPC!

Hello and welcome to Telstar Middle School’s 2021 Virtual Concert!
This school year has obviously looked very different for all of us; students, staff, and parents. Things have been particularly different in our music classrooms. Our normal singing and playing of wind instruments has been next to impossible thanks to COVID-19, and the spread of those pesky respiratory droplets.
Instead of having band and chorus classes as usual, we have taken to rock n’ roll! Over the course of the 2nd trimester our students have learned about chord progressions, song forms, pentatonic scales, and improvised soloing! While many of these songs might not sound exactly like the original recordings, these students have come a long way in their abilities to play, groove, and improvise together.
The Youtube channel linked above is hosting all of our filmed performances. Program information for each performance can be found in the description section of each Youtube video. Please check them out!
Finally, to my students -
After you’ve watched your performance, send it to your other family members, send it to your friends, heck, send it to your enemies! Show off and be proud of how well you’ve learned a new instrument this year! Thank you for your hard work. I hope you think that you look as cool as you sound.
Rock on,
Mr. Alberi, TMS Music Teacher
