Creative nonfiction writing course focused on the genre of Travel Writing
Read and analyze various travel texts looking at both content and form
Limited local travel is a required component, though students have a choice of location
Looking to improve and broaden writing skills beyond literary analysis

Study and application of rhetorical writing strategies
Explore new types of writing and learn how to approach different modes/genres of writing
Critically think about current events and respond to and analyze these issues and events
Continue to study the writing process and English writing conventions

Engage in the Writing Process, going through multiple drafts of work
Utilize Writing Workshops to share and get feedback on work in progress.
Submit work to the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition as well as other opportunities
