We want to take a moment to encourage all Spartans not already involved in an extra or co-curricular activity to find a group to join. Participating in a high school club is a great way to enhance both academic and personal development. Clubs provide an opportunity to make friends with similar interests, do something you feel good about, and even add to your resume. For students planning on going on to college after graduation, sustained and meaningful club participation, which means joining a club that pairs well with your future plans and then sticking with that club throughout your high school career, is something very beneficial to include in university applications. Club, team, and performance group participation fosters personal growth, social skills, and community involvement, all of which prepare students for any type of future endeavor. Click here to view Homestead’s list of extra and co-curricular activities. If you have an idea for a club that we do not currently offer, please email Assistant Principal Jen Bay (jbay@sacs.k12.in.us ) to learn more about starting a new club at Homestead.
All juniors and seniors will be taking a field trip on April 17 to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum to participate in a county-wide Career Fair, JA Career Ignite.
This career fair will be an interactive, in-person experience that will connect students to post-secondary opportunities in 4 areas: Employment, Enrollment, Enlistment, and Entrepreneurship. This is aimed to empower students and introduce them to many diverse careers and opportunities that they may not have considered previously. Ideally, the Career Fair will help create a more clear path to follow after high school graduation by introducing students to college and employment opportunities that appeal to their interests, passions, and hobbies.
Participation in this career fair fulfills two of Indiana's graduation requirements; to attend a career/college fair during the school day and to participate in a career discovery meeting.
Students will be transported to the Coliseum in overlapping shifts throughout the school day (9-11:30, 10-12:30, 11-1:30). More information will be sent out to students and teachers regarding the field trip as we move closer to the date.
In order to make this event the most meaningful, please take 30 seconds to fill out this interest form.
The week of March 10th is a fun-filled time for the students and staff of Homestead High School. Just Because Week is our way of bringing some excitement and community to the school during the month of March. Students and staff are encouraged to dress according to different themes which can lead to some fun collaborations and pictures. Each student who dresses on theme is invited to the daily raffle at lunch for the chance to win a gift card to a Fort Wayne restaurant.
Here are the themes:
3/10/2025 - College Spirit Day
3/11/2025 - Twin Day
3/12/2025 - Pink Out Day
3/13/2025 - Hawaiian Day
3/14/2025 - Spartan Spirit Day
Homestead's Prom will be at the Grand Wayne Center from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 19th. The Theme is City of Stars. Tickets will go on sale during all lunches starting Monday, April 7. Tickets will be $30 from April 7 through April 11 and then increase to $35 the week of April 14. Tickets will be $40 at the door on the night of Prom. Please be sure to put your ticket in a safe place as Student Government cannot refund you for a lost ticket or replace a lost or forgotten ticket.
Prom is for juniors and seniors. Freshmen and sophomores are only allowed to attend prom if they are the guest of (and accompanied by) a junior or senior. If your guest is from another school, you will need to complete and return a Prom guest form, which is available by the Discipline Office. Juniors and seniors can also bring a guest who has graduated as long as they are younger than 21 years old. Completed guest forms must be delivered in person to the Discipline Office by 3 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025. No late forms will be accepted.
Finally, please remember to bring your current student ID when you come to Prom. Homestead students will need to stand in an additional line to have their PowerSchool account confirmed if they forget their student ID, so please do not forget your 2024-2025 student ID. Non-HHS guests must also have a valid photo ID. Guests without a valid photo ID will not be permitted to attend.
If you have lost your ID and need to purchase a new one ($5), please see Mrs. Baker at the student help desk between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. before April 19th.
