Others lived in houses tucked away in crowded city neighborhoods. Everyone was contributing to the success of new Kingdom. In the Nile river it was different, the people both worked long hours and got few rewards. People such as farmers, bakers, brewers, herders, and brickmakers were the main jobs in the society. Adults were not the only Egyptian's who played games. Children rich and poor loved to spin tops, make cloth dolls, wrestle, run, and playing games. People had favorite pets like dogs, cats, and monkeys. The poor swam in the canals that flowed into the cities and farms, and the rich swam in their own pools. The families that were poor that had kids were lucky because their kids could help them because there was lots of work to do to survive.
