Delta- A flat, fan shaped land made of silt deposited at the mouth of a river.
Nile River- The Worlds river, which flows northward through East Africa into the Mediterranean Sea.
Lower Egypt- The Northern part of Ancient Egypt. Downstream of the Nile River where the Nile Delta was located. It had very fertile lands. It had a mild Climate
Upper Egypt- The southern part of Ancient Egypt. Unified with the north in 3100 BC to make what is now known as ancient Egypt. Had rocky valleys and desert sands do to the Nile cutting through land. It also had a harsh climate.
Unification- The act of joining two separate parts into one
Pharaoh- The title used by most rulers of ancient Egypt.
Economy-The way people manage money and resources for the production of goods and services.
Hieroglyphics- The Ancient Egyptian system of writing that used symbols to stand for objects, idea, or sounds.
Papyrus- A type of paper made from the papyrus plant which grows along the Nile River.
Slavery- The practice of owning another Human as property.
Social Pyramid- A diagram illustrating the divisions within a culture; usually showing the most powerful person or group, at the peak and the least powerful groups at the bottom.
