How do we perform on Standardized Test?

Testing Program:

Each year the elementary school's in the Archdiocese of Saint Louis participate in a Standardized Testing program. Schools are required to test students in grades 4, 6, & 8. We utilize the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAt). These are nationally normed tests that cover a wide range of subject.

At Sacred Heart, we administer the ITBS tests to students in grades 2 - 8. Grades 4, 6 & 8 also take the CogAt. The teachers utilize these tests as a means of evaluating the previous year's instructional program and also as a means of preparing lessons to meet the needs of the learners currently in their classrooms.

Below are the past three years of results for the students at Sacred Heart. As you review these, bear in mind that the 50th percentile is considered average and as you can see, we score above the national average in almost all areas.
