Sight Words

Activities for Learning Sight Words:

• Sight Word Memory - Print and cut out two sets of the sight words below. Have your child say each sight word as they look for matches. The person with the most matches wins!
• My Pile, Your Pile - Put the cards in a pile. Pick up one card at a time and show it to your child. If they read the word correctly they place it in their pile. If they do not, read the card to them and place it in your pile. Continue playing the game in this fashion until the middle pile is gone. The goal of the game is for the child to have all the cards in their pile and you to have none in yours. They love having the most cards!
• Sight Word Hangman - Draw from a stack of sight word cards and have your child read each word out loud. Each time they read the word accurately they get to place the word in their pile. But for every mistake, another body piece gets added to the Hangman!
